Camping, Citizenship and Leadership Training

Camping is an activity that involves living out of doors temporarily. It is enjoyed by individuals searching for solitude in the wilderness and by families and organized groups sharing experiences in open areas.       

                          

Objectives of School Camping.                                

1 To serve as an extension of the school instructions programme in a more natural programme.                         

2  To improve personal attitude to establish of new goal and development.                        

3  To develop a Sense of responsibility and co-operation through participation in camp roles.                                    

4.  To develop wholesome and sound health habit and attitude through health education.                            

5. To develop and improve personal self image and physical potential.                            

6. To develop and broaden the cultural potential of boys and girls through actual participation in music drama and Art.                    

Purpose of Camping       

Camping activities can be organized based on any of the following purpose:.                              

1. Recreational (fun and enjoyment).                         

2. Skill improvement in sports and games.                        

3.  Leadership and citizenship training.             

4. Educational (Academic).                          

5.  Social interaction.           

6.  Spiritual or religious.      

What is Citizenship.            

Citizenship is a special status granted to members of a State by the authorities in that state, by virtue of such a status, such members enjoy certain defined political, social and civil rights within the area of jurisdiction of the state.

Leadership is a long standing and widespread topic of concern most especially in any organizational sphere of life and system.                      

Leadership Styles.              

This is the behaviour exhibited by sports administrator in any work setting i.e his exhibited behaviour when carrying his functions in the organization.

They are various patterns of behaviour favoured by the leader during the process of directing and influencing workers or his subordinates e.g. Autocrat, democrat, Laisseze-Faire, Anarchist.
